The outbreak of the novel coronavirus in Washington has closed many businesses, shut down schools and canceled events across the state.
Last week, organizers of the annual Folklife Festival canceled their 2020 event to "protect the public, and particularly the community's most vulnerable populations." And now, another popular Seattle event has been put on hold.
"The Book of Morman," scheduled to hit The Paramount Theatre stage May 19–31, has been postponed due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19.

According to a release on Thursday, Premera Blue Cross Broadway at The Paramount and Seattle Theatre Group are working with the show’s producers to find new dates for the engagement.
A message posted today on the STG website read: Please rest assured, if we are unable to find a new date for THE BOOK OF MORMON and must cancel this engagement, ticket holders will be notified and offered credits and refunds. We will also post any updates on the STG Facebook page.
The message went on to say: Thank you for your support and patience as we continue to navigate this unprecedented situation. In uncertain times, it is art that we turn to for escapism, joy, and comfort. We are looking forward to welcoming you back soon. When that day arrives, and this intermission comes to an end, the thrill that live theater brings will feel more special than ever before.
As of this writing, all ticket holders are being asked to hold onto their tickets as the details are worked out.
