Washington is one of the top 10 most educated states, according to a recent WalletHub study.
The study examined statistics such as share of adults ages 25 and older with certain levels of education, enrolled students in top universities per capita, public high school graduation rate, states with summer learning legislation and school engagement with students to determine which states were the most educated.
Washington is in the top 10, along with education powerhouses like Massachusetts and Maryland. The Evergreen State also ranks third for highest percentage of Associate's degree holders or those with some college experience.
WalletHub also compared its most educated ranking to annual median household income rankings.
Generally, states with a more educated population demonstrated more earning potential. Washington comes in at a perfect ratio -- 10th for education and 10th for annual median household income.
