Will the Seattle Seahawks enter their bye week flawless?

The team looks to improve to 5-0 for the first time in franchise history when it hosts the Minnesota Vikings (1-3) on Sunday Night Football. Kickoff is at 5:20 p.m. PDT from CenturyLink Field.

The Vikings have struggled to start the season, but their offense has the potential to give Seattle’s last-ranked defense fits. Minnesota star running back Dalvin Cook is the NFL’s rushing leader by a wide margin, and rookie first-round receiver Justin Jefferson is ninth in receiving yards entering Week 5. Veteran wideout Adam Thielen, too, is one of the best route runners in the NFL.

Sunday marks the third consecutive year the Seahawks will meet the Vikings in primetime. Seattle has gotten the best of Minnesota five times in a row in the regular season dating back to 2012.

Under Pete Carroll (2010-present), the Seahawks are 11-4-1 on Sunday Night Football, 20-3 at home in primetime and a league-best 30-7-1 in primetime overall.

Quarterback Russell Wilson, an early favorite for 2020 MVP, needs 21 completions Sunday to pass Matt Hasselbeck for first place on the Seahawks’ all-time passing completions list.

In true Seahawks fashion, the final few minutes were anything but ordinary. On the Seahawks final drive, all seemed lost on fourth down until a huge catch from a wide-open D.K. Metcalf kept them alive.

On another fourth down, in the red zone, D.K. Metcalf caught another laser for the touchdown and what would lead to the win.

But then the Vikings answered back with march up the field, ending in a receiving touchdown and an unsuccessful two-point attempt to put them within two points of the lead.

Q3 8:02 — Another one??? Score: 21-13, Seahawks.

Before the Vikings could try to retaliate, K.J. Wright snatched a ball from Kirk Cousins out of the air, putting the Seahawks in a prime position. Chris Carson blew through defenders for the touchdown to take the Seahawks eight points ahead.

A truly bizarre fumble from Kirk Cousins — he dropped the ball while winding up to pass and it then bounced off his forward — allowed the Seahawks to take possession of the ball again. Russell Wilson made quick work on the drive and ultimately a laser to D.K. Metcalf gave them the go-ahead touchdown.

Q3 9:55 — Seahawks finally get some momentum with TD. Score: 13-7, Vikings.

The Seahawks had a, OK we'll say it, terrible first half. But on their second drive of the second half, they got it done with some quick passing from Russell Wilson. Eventually, tight end Will Dissly caught one in the end zone to put them within a possession of the lead.

Q2 0:10 — Vikings grab another field goal. Score: 13-0, Vikings.

After some flat drives from the Seahawks, the Vikings ate up time on the field with the ball. A 46-yard field goal put them 13 points ahead going into the second half.

Q2 8:39 — Vikings stretch out the lead with a field goal. Score: 10-0, Vikings.

After bullying the Seahawks defense, the Vikings were eventually stopped on their drive and had to settle for a 52-yard field goal attempt. Dan Bailey successfully drilled the kick.

Q1 8:48 — Vikings draw first blood with TD. Score: 7-0, Vikings.
