Routes: Winter fare sales, ski free deal with Alaska, more Seattle airline news

Wherever your next getaway takes you, chances are there is an airfare deal prime for booking right now.

This week’s airline news includes low fare deals with major carriers like Alaska, Delta and Hawaiian, along with promotional fares with budget carriers Avelo and Southwest.

If you’re destined for the mountains, take note of the free ski partnership program with Alaska Airlines to save even more on your next trip.

Alaska low fares, ski free promo

Alaska Airlines has a number of reduced fares for Pacific Northwest travelers with a booking window now through Nov. 28. Sample one-way Seattle (SEA) fares include $49 to Portland (PDX), $69 to San Francisco (SFO) and $79 to San Jose (SJC).

This snow season, Alaska passengers may also show their airline boarding pass to partner resorts for a free ski session. Participating resorts may be found in Alaska, Calgary, Colorado, Idaho, Montana and Washington.

Do you have a flight credit from earlier in the year? Remember to check your Wallet Funds with Alaska Airlines for any certificates expiring Dec. 31. While travelers must book by the expiration date, travel can take place for up to 11 months into the new year.

Avelo Airlines 72-hour sale

Travelers in the Tri-Cities area will want to take advantage of a 72-hour fare sale with newcomer Avelo Airlines, which offers nonstop direct flights between Pasco’s Tri-Cities Airport (PSC) and Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR).

With promo code WINTER20, travelers may save $20 off roundtrip flights booked by 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 18, with travel completed by January 4. A sample fare with this promotion is $76.50 roundtrip.

Delta low fares from Seattle

Delta has released a handful of new low roundtrip fares from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) for January travel dates.

Sample roundtrip fares include Seattle to Los Angeles (LAX) for $187 or 8,000 miles, Seattle to Las Vegas (LAS) for $207 or 9,000 miles, and Seattle to Salt Lake City (SLC) for $207 or 13,000 miles.

Hawaiian Airlines low fares in January

Just in time for whale season around the islands, Hawaiian Airlines has released a one-way fare sale for January travel. Sample fares from Seattle (SEA) include one-way to Honolulu (HNL) or to Kahului in Maui (OGG) starting at $169.

All guests traveling to the Hawaiian Islands must comply with the state’s Safe Travels requirements, which allows domestic travelers to participate in a vaccine exception program.

Southwest winter fare sale

Book by Nov. 25 to take advantage of Southwest’s winter fare sale. Sample one-way fares from Seattle (SEA) include $94 to San Diego (SAN), $127 to Phoenix (PHX) and $148 to Orlando (MCO).
