While details remain scarce, Shubert Ho and his partners at Feed Me Hospitality and Restaurant Group have announced that they will be opening a second location of The Market inside the museum in early September, bringing their people-pleasing fish and chips, fish tacos, and chowder into the city as well as a few unique items.

The Market Fishmonger and Eatery, on Edmonds’ Main Street features a casual menu that incorporates some local seafood, like the Dungeness crab roll, but earned much of its die-hard social media cred for its Maine lobster roll and the soft-shell crab – foods with no particular tie to the Northwest. But Feed Me Hospitality, has, until now, kept close to home in Edmonds – where it has Salt & Iron, Fire& the Feast, Bar Dojo, and SanKai, in addition to the Market. Recently, Feed Me and its catering arm, Shooby Doo, took on one large venue when it opened Potlatch Bistro inside the Edmonds Waterfront Center.

With the opening in early September of The Market Seattle, Shooby Doo will take on its second large venue. Previously, the Seattle Art Museum’s catering was fulfilled by Bon Appétit Management Co., which also operated the now-closed Taste Café on-site. Taste closed when the museum did, last March, but never reopened when the museum welcomed back visitors in September.

While an official opening date has not been announced for The Market Seattle, the liquor license application has been filed, the company is running a job fair to hire employees, and the website already shows the choice of which location to order food from – though the Downtown Seattle menu is not live yet.
