Seattle Storm star Sue Bird has partnered with other high-profile female athletes to bring to life a platform dedicated to elevating the voices of women.

Bird — along with stars Alex Morgan (soccer), Simone Manuel (swimming) and Chloe Kim (snowboarding) — on Tuesday launched TOGETHXR, a media and commerce company that aims to spotlight the stories of women in sports and beyond. One of the many goals? To make sure women’s sports are more represented in media coverage.

‘When I was growing up, there was nothing like this,” Bird told NBC Sports last week. “When I think about legacy and what I’m leaving behind, I think this is an amazing way to keep pushing and telling stories and hopefully change the (media coverage) landscape.”

The four co-founders are among the most successful female athletes in the world, with a combined eight Olympic gold medals.

“There is more conscious investment and viewership, engagement is growing, cultural rhetoric is there and the significance of these women using their platforms to literally effect political and cultural change is at a fever pitch. “TOGETHXR’s chief content officer, Jessica Robertson, told The New York Times. “And this brand is coming alongside or maybe just behind that movement.”

Added Morgan to The Times: “This is going to be something that really breaks barriers. Something that creates a community and a platform from female athletes for female athletes that has never been done before.”

TOGETHXR will release new content daily on its social media channels, including a video series on 17-year-old national boxing champion Chantel “Chicanita” Navarro.
