The annual event, organized by the Gender Justice League, strives to "increase the strength of the trans and gender diverse community and its allies, both within and beyond Seattle, through increased visibility, connection and love, decreased isolation, and the celebration of our amazing lives," according to their website.

Recent threats from anti-trans, alt-rights groups, including the Proud Boys, prompted the organizers to hire a small private security team and enlist volunteers to help secure this year's event. Any visible protest activity, though, seemed minimal to non-existent.
