Basketball fans and the media alike have been waiting for an iconic Finals moment from Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, and that’s exactly what they got in Game 4. After suffering a foot injury late in Game 3, Curry’s health lead most conversations heading into this game. But Curry put those concerns to bed (right along with the Celtics) as he dropped 43 points and led the Warriors to a 107 – 97 win.

The Celtics (39.5%) actually outshot the Warriors (34.9%) from behind the arc yet again in Game 4, but Curry went 7-14 from 3 by himself to carry the Warriors across the finish line. Any time Curry can nearly match the combination of Jayson Tatum (23 points) and Jaylen Brown (21 points), the Warriors have a great shot at winning.

The key to this win in tandem with Curry’s offense was the Warriors’ return to dominance on the glass. In extended minutes, Kevon Looney pulled down 11 rebounds, while Andrew Wiggins posted a career-high 16 boards. Heck, even Curry managed to grab 10 rebounds to help the Warriors win the glass 55-42 and get easy second-chance points.

NBA Finals Game 5: Boston Celtics vs. Golden State Warriors

  • When: Monday, June 13th, 6:00 p.m. PST
  • Where: Chase Center
  • TV: ABC (streaming with Hulu + Live TV or YouTube TV)
  • Radio: 95.7 The Game (San Francisco), 98.5 The Sports Hub (Boston)

For a pivotal Game 5 back at the Chase Center in SF, tickets aren't cheap. That said, Ticketmaster has verified resale tickets available today for just a hair under $800 each for sections 211 through 214. Your next best option is Stubhub, where you can find quite a few tickets on sale for around $875 each in the upper levels.

Shockingly, this is about the same price as tickets for Game 2, the last Finals game in SF.

If you’re really balling out and want the best experience possible, then courtside tickets from Ticketmaster are your best bet. A pair of VIP tickets in row AA right next to the court will set you back over $120,000 just for the tickets. But being up close and personal to watch Steph light it up at the Chase Center might just be worth it if you’ve got the money to blow.

Even though a Game 6 is guaranteed in Boston, this could be the last home Finals game in Steph Curry’s career. Just something to consider.

What to watch for in Celtics vs. Warriors Game 5

The biggest thing to watch for in Game 5 is how the Celtics decide to defend Curry. So far in the Finals, they’ve played drop coverage to prevent ball movement and drives to the basket. This defense gives Curry space to get his shots off from deep, and he’s been knocking them down (49% from 3 for the series). If the C’s adjust their defense, watch for the Warriors’ role players to step up and score easy points in the paint.

For the Warriors, it’ll be interesting to see how head coach Steve Kerr handles Draymond Green. Green has been downright bad in these Finals, and Kerr benched him during the middle of the 4th quarter in Game 4. If Green’s poor play continues, look for Kerr to play Looney more and maybe even dust off youngster Jonathan Kuminga for his athleticism and defense.

Another point to note is that the Celtics have not lost back-to-back games all postseason. Not only that, but the Celts have won by an average of 15.6 points following every playoff loss, so the stage is set for a Celtics blowout. If the Warriors can break the pattern and hand the Celtics their first back-to-back losses, they’ll take a 3-2 lead and have a greatly increase their odds of winning the title.
