Single-game tickets for the Ms’ 14 home games at the Peoria Sports Complex  in Arizona will be made available beginning Wednesday at 8 a.m. PST, according to a press release. Just 1,960 tickets will be made available for each game, as the ballpark will have a reduced capacity due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. There will be no season tickets available.

Tickets will be sold in groups up to four people in reserved seating areas, and in groups of two, four or six assigned areas on the lawn in the outfield. The assigned seating areas will be socially-distance pods.

All fans at the Peoria Sports Complex will be required to adhere to health and safety protocol: mask wearing (for those 2+ years old); social distancing; cashless transactions for food, beverages and merchandise; and no bags. There will also be no autographs.

The Mariners on Friday announced the signing of veteran reliever Ken Giles to a two-year contract with a club option for 2023. Giles reportedly agreed to terms with Seattle last week, but the team completed the deal Friday.

The 30-year-old Giles, known for his power arm, was a dominant force for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2019. A former member of the Houston Astros, too, Giles was held to just four appearances in the past season before undergoing Tommy John surgery, which will hold him out for 2021. But the Mariners’ hope is that he’ll bolster the bullpen for 2022.

“Ken has been among the most valuable relievers in baseball since making his debut back in 2014,” Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto said in a statement. “He has consistently dominated the strike zone with elite level stuff. He will not be able to contribute this season as he continues the rehab from TJ (Tommy John) surgery, but we are confident in his ability to impact our club in 2022 and potentially beyond.”

Seattle also designated right-handed pitcher Robert Dugger for assignment.
