The deadline to vote has passed, and results are beginning to drop across Washington state. But how did your neighbors vote?

A few things to keep in mind: Though Tuesday, March 10 is primary election day for the state, we do have an 18-day voting window, meaning ballots should have been received by registered voters as early as Feb. 21, and ballots were finalized well before that. At that time, there was a considerably larger pool of candidates than the three Democrats and two Republicans still running. (Former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld is challenging President Donald Trump and is still in the race. He did not appear on the Washington ballot, but there were some write-in votes.)

Ballots could have been cast and mailed in or dropped off well before the field began to dwindle, so there are votes counted for candidates that are no longer running.

Additionally, ballots are counted at the county level, so some returns may drop sooner than others.

As a mail-in ballot state, results from Tuesday night are sure to fluctuate over the next week or so as more ballots are received and counted by election officials. Keep checking back to see updated returns.
