In wake of the novel coronavirus, it's becoming more and more likely Washingtonians will keep closer to home as the holidays arrive.

As domestic travel continues to decline, some of Washington's best are rising to the occasion to boast safe staycations that aren't too far from the Emerald City.

From cabins with chic spas to cabins inside rustic state parks, scroll down for 18 of the coziest cabins we could find to book now for an upcoming wintry adventure.

Alpine Lakes High Camp, Leavenworth
Two hours east within the beloved Bavarian village of Leavenworth, Alpine Lakes High Camp is located at an elevation of 5,000' with nine backcountry ski cabins and a lodge. Tucked up against the peaks of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, just 15 miles east of Stevens Pass, spend your time pursuing your favorite mountain activities whether it's hiking, mountain biking, skiing or just relaxing. Enjoy a wood-fired hot tub and sauna in the mountains, and tuck away in one of their cabin rentals.
