"The property at 4401 is slated to be developed," the post reads. "The time was right for us to move on."

Vif opened in 2013 and prided themselves on being the only shop in Seattle that carries exclusively natural wines, according to their website. The coffee used in-house is from Olympia Coffee Roasting Company in Olympia, which is a small, quality-focused roastery. The food at Vif is all made in-house as well, they say, other than bread from Columbia City Bakery and Seawolf Bakers. Vif says they purchase from local farmers as much as possible.

Vif's website says that the last day of food service will be Dec. 24. Following holiday closures on Dec. 25 and 26, Vif will reopen for wine sales and final good-byes Dec. 27 to 29 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

"So much has happened over the years and it has been our honor to be a place where people felt they could come to get grounded, feel cared for and greeted with warmth and a smile," the Instagram post said.

Vif's "little sister" Petite Soif is still open and is located on Beacon Hill. Following the success of Vif, the owners decided to expand their natural wine offerings further south, opening Petite Soif in 2019. Like Vif, Petite Soif offers bottles of natural wine for purchase. The small shop has a few tables and a quaint patio to enjoy a bite to eat with a glass of wine.

"Please come and say farewell — you have no idea how much we will miss you and this place," the post said.
