If you've ever had a sneaking suspicion that we might have it pretty good here in Seattle airport-wise, you wouldn't be alone. According to a new report from travel site The Points Guy evaluating the 50 busiest airports in the country, one of the best is our very own Sea-Tac International Airport.

Sea-Tac didn't quite crack the overall top five in the United States — it made number six — but it did rank higher for its number of on-time flights (number three) and also did relatively well for great amenities (number 14).

We're inclined to believe the great amenities bit: supposedly, the airport is home to one of the nicest public restrooms in the nation. This would be the new restroom at North Satellite Terminal, which was recently selected as one of ten finalists in the 2019 America's Best Restroom contest. Plus, it doesn't hurt that you can get Beecher's mac and cheese AND Ivar's clam chowder while you wait at your gate.

However, Sea-Tac didn't exactly shine for commute to the airport, coming in at a lowly number 28. This calculation factors in drive time, public transit options, parking fees, and ride-hailing price. On July 1, parking rates at Sea-Tac increased from $4 to $5 hourly and from $30 to $32 daily.

Embarrassingly, Sea-Tac was beat out by Portland International Airport on the overall best airport list, but it did rank higher than San Francisco. The San Diego International Airport took the number one spot, while Chicago Midway was ranked as the worst airport in the US.
