Washington doesn't have the football credibility that states like Texas or others do. And while our universities have pumped out more than a few NFL stars and Super Bowl champions, the Washington prep sports reputation isn't nationally renowned.

That being said, the Puget Sound region has its fair share of high school alumni who have gone on to careers in the pros.

Quite a few made stops on the Seattle Seahawks' roster. Marcus Trufant, one of the earlier framers of the Legion of Boom, comes to mind as a Puget Sound-raised footballer who went to school in Pullman, and spent almost his whole career as a Seahawk, just north of his hometown of Tacoma.

Since the beginning of the Super Bowl era, over 100 players in the NFL have come from the Puget Sound area.

The boundaries of the region aren't always specific, and people in the Northwest can be pedantic about it, but for the sake of this story the cities and towns in the region are: Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue, Kirkland, Everett, Edmonds, Snohomish, Lacey, Olympia, Bremerton, Poulsbo, Silverdale, Puyallup, Lakewood, Kent, Bothell, Burien, SeaTac, Lynnwood, Shoreline and other small towns around the area.

To qualify for the list, the player must have played a regular season game for an NFL team between 1967 and November 2019. So if a player started for a team in 1963, but played past 1967, they made the list. All data was culled from Pro Football Reference, a database for NFL players.
