As children and moving into our teen years, many of us have the interest and desire to start our own business and be able to have an impact on the world around us. However, as the reality of the world starts to take over, these dreams start to look more and more unrealistic to the point where many give up. However, some people have it in them to retain that spirit and break all barriers and become their own boss. Among these rare people is entrepreneur Kieran O’Brien. What has Kieran done to move away from the world of 9 to 5s? And has it been worth it?

 

Starting from the beginning, Kieran was a car enthusiast. He states himself, “I love cars. Pretty simple!” However, unlike many others who are also interested in the automotive industry, Kieran made a career out of it. Kieran founded GearedSocial, which aimed to provide social media services and lead generations for automotive businesses. Due to this service, clients could find fresh revenue sources online. While there is a clear saturation of digital marketing agencies, few specialize in aftermarket parts for automotive industries.

 

Kieran picked his market, and knowing there was a need for it, he was able to create a special and unique place for his marketing businesses. Kieran’s presence on social media is also active and prominent, especially on Instagram.

 

Next up, Kieran then went on to another venture called ShopAccelerator, which is a full-stack custom-made marketing solution aimed specifically towards the automotive industry. ShopAccelerator is a combination of lead generation and appointment booking software that consists of a complete marketing agency staff. All of this comes at an extremely reasonable monthly retainer. Having the trust and confidence in his abilities, Kieran believed that ShopAcceleator would drive in new customers and sales.

 

Judging by the success of his work, Kieran was right! He has been able to take his work from $0 to a staggering $1 million in less than 10 months. Kieran has also been able to raise an incredible $1 million in venture capital, and he is now working on his next venture, MediaKits.com.

 

All this success, however, has not come easy to Kieran. He remembers that being a young man in highly developed and old industries was extremely challenging for him. However, instead of thinking of his age as an obstacle, Kieran took on the work and brought a fresh point of view.

 

When talking about success and wisdom, Kieran says that you should always try to overdeliver. This helps you add value to your work and yourself. He also says that if you manage to mess something up, you should be quick to take responsibility and get over it. Furthermore, Kieran wants people to know that they should focus on people, relationships, and building a network, not money.

 

Looking ahead, Kieran wants to teach young people the importance and possibility of taking a less traditional approach to things in life yet still ending up successful. He would also like to start a welfare organization to fund gap years for less fortunate high school students.
