Marriages might be made in heaven, but the earthly realities that come along cannot be ignored. Besides love and trust, there are other factors that solidify the foundation of a marital relationship. They are financial transparency, better marital plans, improved wealth management, and the safety of the spouse both legally and financially. This is where a prenuptial agreement is helping couples empower their marital relationship. Hello Prenup is an online platform for soon-to-be-married couples to tailor their prenuptial agreement according to their needs and lifestyle. Sarabeth Jaffe, a techie and co-founder of Hello Prenup, is taking this platform ahead in the legal-tech sector through innovation and planning.

It all started in February 2021 when Seattle-based software engineer Sarabeth Jaffe got engaged to her fiancé. As a modern woman focused on career possibilities and financial freedom, Sarabeth began researching prenuptial agreements to solidify their future planning. With no idea where she would find the perfect solution, she ended up contacting many attorneys who were charging high rates, leading the couple to a confusing procedure. Fortunately, Sarabeths search ended after teaming up with a Boston-based divorce attorney and current CEO and co-founder of Hello Prenup, Julia Rodgers, Esq. Julia and Sarabeth soon became a powerful legal tech duo helping fiscal-minded couples easily plan their prenuptial agreement.

Sarabeth holds a Bachelor's in Computer Science from RPI and is a vocal advocate for women in technology. She enjoys advocating for cutting-edge technology such as low code and increasing access to legal protections by blending technology with legalese. She is an ex-employee of Microsoft and the Seattle-based unicorn, Karat, besides dominating non-profits and start-ups. Leveraging her technical knowledge and experience, Sarabeth guided Hello Prenup to new heights in less than a year. After becoming the co-founder of this platform, she rebuilt the whole software set-up from the ground up in just 3 months. This eventually helped Hello Prenup gain more traction and media attention.

In November 2021, the unstoppable legal-tech duo got the opportunity to pitch Hello Prenup at ABCs Emmy award-winning national television series, Shark Tank. Besides receiving huge media attention, Hello Prenup secured investment from two sharks: Kevin OLeary, a serial investor and entrepreneur, and Nirav Tolia, a CEO and founder of NextDoor”. Sarabeth and Rodgers demonstrate how couples can use Hello Prenup to create a premarital agreement within hours. The whole process will cost them only a fraction of the amount an attorney in Washington state would charge.

With exposure on national television and the rising number of post-pandemic weddings, Hello Prenup experienced exponential growth. To date, the platform has helped thousands of couples discuss their marital plans, promote financial transparency, and become the thought leader in all things prenuptial. Setting up a prenuptial agreement empowers a relationship in many ways. It is like a modern financial planning tool for a couple soon to walk the aisle. It allows couples to plan how their property, debt, inheritance, and other assets will be handled throughout their relationship. The couple or sometimes the spouse may have a student loan repayment set to start. In such cases, couples can use a prenuptial agreement to protect their future spouse from debt.

Sarabeth, as an entrepreneur and advocate of women's financial freedom, has always wanted to legally empower women who are entering marriage with more assets. Besides Hello Prenup, she is also educating women on the benefits of financial planning and prenups. Going forward, Sarabeth wants to expand HelloPrenup to all 50 states in the US to help more couples empower their marital relationship through transparent financial planning.
