My entire suitcase collection consists of Beis bags because of the high-quality construction, clean aesthetics and thoughtful designs that have travelers’ lifestyles in mind, from laptop pockets and complimentary laundry bags to luggage tags and removable compartments. Made with over-packers in mind, the suitcase’s star feature is the weight limit indicator. It lets you know when your bag hits 50 pounds, so you don’t have to worry about scrambling to remove items at the check-in counter. This has been a true godsend for me — can you blame me for wanting to pack a new outfit for every activity? If I still need extra space, I’ll also bring the Beis Weekender bag or backpack with me on the plane. 

The Check-In Roller also features a TSA-approved combination lock, a 2-inch zipper expansion and various pockets including a removable mesh compartment. I love the durable hard-shell exterior because I can trust that my belongings will make it to my destination in one piece. Beis Large Check-In Roller review

I wish I was a part of the carry-on-only culture, but that’s just not me. Call it high-maintenance, but I like being able to bring everything that will help make a travel experience seamless and comfortable. Plus, I obviously can’t be seen outfit-repeating on my Instagram feed — I’m totally kidding, kind of. Fortunately, the Beis Large Check-In Roller has all the space, pockets and travel-friendly features I need for week-long trips or extended vacations.

I’m also a sucker for clean and timeless yet on-trend aesthetics and, in my opinion, no one does this better than Beis. The monochrome hard-shell with a textured stripe design is minimal and chic but still stands out at baggage claim. Every time I walk through the terminal with my Beis roller in tow, I truly feel like a luxury traveler (even as a budget traveler).

The suitcase is incredibly spacious, which especially comes in handy for winter trips to cold-weather destinations. I was able to fit several puffy jackets in the large roller for week-long visits to both Banff, Canada and Paris. When it gets extra full, I use the compression straps to hold everything in place. The detachable mesh pocket helps me organize loose items, such as hair supplies, toiletries and souvenirs. The inner pockets come in handy for storing smaller clothing items like socks, undergarments and accessories.

This bag has overall great construction and quality. There hasn’t been a dent in it since I bought it two years ago. However, because I ordered the beige shade, it has gotten a bit dirty and scratched. Spot cleaning with a damp rag helps, but if you love one of the light color options and want to avoid stains, you can also purchase the plastic luggage cover.

The best thing about the large roller is the amount of storage it offers, as well as its nifty features like the weight limit indicator and lock. From digital nomads on the road and those visiting family for the holidays with countless presents to deliver to travelers who just want the freedom to pack an extra pair of everything, this suitcase allows you to fit both the necessities and the indulgences.

The most obvious downside of the large roller is the cost. Almost $300 is a lot to spend on a bag you’ll likely only use every once in a while. But when compared to the prices of competitors like Away ($375) and Monos ($425), you actually get more bang for your buck. Aside from the price, the light-hued pieces can get dirty — particularly if your luggage gets thrown around. Despite a few spots and scrapes, my Large Check-In Roller has held up well.

Is Beis worth the price?

This isn’t the kind of bag you’ll use regularly for weekend trips or quick getaways, but it’s certainly a worthwhile investment if you go on one or two big trips per year. Sure, there are plenty of other high-quality roller bags, but the extra bells and whistles on this one make it stand out from the rest.
