At the end of April, Windermere listed this Hunts Point property.

A palatial estate in every sense, it's the most expensive price of any residential home ever listed on the Northwest Multiple Listing Service — which means the $85 million sales prices makes it the most expensive listing recorded in greater Seattle area to date.

The story was under wraps until all the T's were crossed and all the I's were dotted. After all, with a listing of this nature, there were many moving parts. But now the estate has finally hit the open market.

Anna Riley of Windermere, who co-listed the home with Denise Niles, explained to the Seattle P-I why the price (unbelievable though it may be) befits the property:

"This property is the jewel of Hunts Point," Riley said. "[It sits on a] 4.3-acre parcel with 327 feet of cherished lake front. Designed with an emphasis on spectacular entertainment spaces by award-winning architect Richard Landry, who is responsible for some of the most iconic luxury homes in Southern California. The dock is like a private marina."

Indeed, Richard Landry does have a history of building swanky estates for famous people (including this one, designed for the Kardashians). This Hunts Point property has celebrity history, having once been home to famed smooth jazz musician Kenny G. The current owner and seller is undisclosed, but over the weekend, the Puget Sound Business Journal reported the home belongs to cellular phone tycoon Bruce McCaw.

Whoever purchases this mansion will have plenty of room inside: The nearly 18,000 square feet of living space is divided between four structures.

On the sprawling waterfront lot are amenities such as a tennis court; a pool, spa, and cabana; and a lakeshore beach house that would be quite enough for many folks by itself.

Will this $85 million property sell for this record-breaking price? If it does, it's going to be yet another record, this time for the highest sale price ever paid for a residential home in the Seattle metro.
